A second water heater, 50 gallon gas water heater was replaced for a customer on Remington Court in Independence Kentucky. Remington Court is located in the Forest Run Subdivision near Krogers in the Independence Towne Center.

The Forest Run Subdivision, located in Independence Kentucky is notorious for high water pressure and about three to four years ago we was called out to residence to address a serious problem where one of the valves in the washer box serving the washing machine.

Apparently high water pressure led to one of the shutoff valves exploding, sending water shooting to the ceiling. Thankfully this happened right before this property owner left to go to work, otherwise this rupture of the valve would of continued for hours until someone returned from work later that day. The water heater above had started leaking and given that it was over 11 years old, replacement was the only option in resolving this issue. We greatly appreciated the fact that this customer allowed us a couple days to get to this water heater in regards to replacement. As seen in the picture, there was a gas line that was pulled into position along with a thermal expansion tank that was in failure. We tested the thermal expansion tank and water was emitting from the valve. This always indicates that the diaphragm has broken and allowed water to enter the air side of the equation.

Here is the finished product. New 50 gallon A.O. Smith PowerVent Water Heater that was delivered by Wilder Winnelson out of Wilder Kentucky 859-572-0500

Reworked the new thermal expansion tank in so it would not block the security panel to the right, water lines and 3" PVC vent was reworked in order to accommodate the new water heater. Some additional work to the gas line was needed.
