Propress fitting system
« on: January 08, 2010, 10:10:08 AM »

What do you guys think of this system? I'm thinking once the o rings get some age on them, simple expansion and contraction will cause leaks.
A guy compared them to sloan "O" rings but I dont think that a valid comparison because sloan's O ring is not concealed in a wall and is not meant to be permanent.

If you can afford it guess it's up to discretion of its value, how well it works. Everything about the equation is expensive but that doesn't take away its purpose in a commercial application. Water systems that are impossible to drain down is one such example.

I thought they marketed that product mainly for new construction. Seems like if a system cant be drained down that isolation valves would be installed and then the most permanent method of piping installed. I think its sole reason for existence is to compete with plastic systems.

I can't afford the equipment. Such a large expense for something that I normally solder and call it done.

I understand convenience but I guess different strokes for different folks.
