WaterBoss Water Softeners - Water Softeners at Home Depot
« on: January 13, 2010, 10:54:14 PM »

Dunbar Plumbing installs WaterBoss Water Softeners from Home Depot on a regular basis. Most if not always, the price of the product decides the purchase more than quality. For as many water softeners we have installed over the years, we have yet to have any complaints with the product. http://www.waterboss.com/

Of course, there are many other products out there that are ideal for the application but in the price range...there isn't too many to choose from. There is a huge difference between proprietary against the rock bottom models at the big box stores. Sears Kenmore water softeners can be included into this equation as well.  They have been selling water softeners for years.

Customers for the most part believe in a mentality keeping a water softener 7 to 10 years, buy and install a new one and be done with it. Working on old ones aren't the norm for most. It becomes quite the opposite as the cost of materials is usually high and no gurantees on the product. Consumerism these days usually doesn't figure in the value of dumping money, sometimes good money into bad when the possibility stands there looking at them with the chance that it will cost them with another repair within days/weeks or months. A "new" product usually guarantees the buyer they have an extended period of time where they don't have to fork out more money to achieve the result.

So keep that in mind with your next purchase of a water softener. You can spend as little as $500 for soft water up to $5000-$7000 for a top of the line water treatment system. Both will soften water, it's the price you want to pay that  makes the most sense to the wallet.

Here is a complaint board in regard to product "issues" and what I found surprising, knowing how many of these units are sold daily across the united states and other countries. There are less than 10 complaints and I believe it is one or two disgruntled customers, or possibly others that sell the same type of products to create something out of nothing. No way of knowing the clarity of truthfulness of that content.
