How was your Day?
« on: December 31, 2009, 09:28:09 PM »

Use this topic to cover everything and anything.

My day, even though I'm in a lot of pain from yesterday (drain cleaning till late) I'm still moving on. Staying productive and keeping away from festivities for ringing the new year. 2010 is here.

Took my dog to the vet, thank goodness it wasn't expensive. Was around $160.

Sat here, glued in this forum, taking little or no breaks at times so I can get this forum up and going.

Glad that I was able to get some mods installed to help add some better options into the forum.

Off to sleep before I head north tomorrow. Will take take pictures of the mess I'm dealing with on the

kitchen sink drain I'm fighting.

Deaaaaaaaaaaaaam. My body needs sleep, but I have too much to do. Got a toilet replacement in the morning, but I never heard back from the guy.

My day started off late, but got to my job, got it done, got paid and came back to the shop, worked online...with the exception of time spent eating pizza.

Time is just ripping by; from 7pm to 2:19am right now, it just flew by here in front of this computer screen.

I did find out that I'm either missing, or lost some pictures on my computer as I couldn't find them and I had to go to one of my online photo albums to grab

the pictures. Thank goodness they were there. They are pictures of my billboard advertising from years ago. Losing those pretty much becomes a word of mouth

where the talk is big and the proof is small. I'll be posting those pictures on here sometime this week. They are already on my facebook profile as of tonight.

Here's how it all played out today;

First call was "supposed" to be a toilet reset. When I got there I noticed that it was an Eljer and the right tank to bowl bolt was leaking down to the floor.

The customer agreed (as they have had to plunge this toilet profusely during family get togethers and other random occaisions) and they used to poke fun and make the ritual of "put the plunger in the tub!" when someone would come over. This job is on Lloyd Avenue in Florence Kentucky and we told the customer to purchase a toilet of their choice (recommended two toilets) and we would replace her toilet tomorrow. She called and she got the toilet ready for us to install. :Woot_Emoticon:

Went and dropped my plumbing rig off and had someone drive me back to the shop. Got in my "Ole Yeller" and off to rod a kitchen sink drain on a slab foundation home. 1st pass I somehow got hard torqued into the basket strainer but I ended up trailing the vent. Pulled out, made a second run and nailed it, got it open at 22' away. This job was on Akerly Drive in Independence Kentucky. I found out beforehand that he used drain chemicals to get the drain open, told him that he could avoid the extra charges if he removed "as much as possible" of the drain cleaning products that could damage my cables. He went ahead while waiting for me to get there and shop vac'd it out, did a great job and I even gave a small discount on the top number for his efforts. Showed off my latest move on the internet and he even let me bookmark the site on his laptop.  WHA-BAM! I also took a short video of my equipment in action while I was clearing this drain with the drum machine going top down with the cable going down the basket strainer, using the water backup to my advantage so I could use it as a site gauge.

Got to get some invoicing done tonight, have to work on my famed kohler toilet tomorrow... :violent-smiley-007:

It's just about to start, and I have a feeling my first call is going to be a wing dinger of a job.  I need to grab my faucet socket wrenches because this fill valve shank is way up inside, concealed under the porcelain skirting. The nice thing is there is a plumbing supply house within walking distance of the job. YES!

A caffiene shot would do me a world of good right now. :coffee2:

My day worked out good, but late on all counts.

Got everyone taken care of for the day, hoping to get up for tomorrow.

The data processor (mind) tried to take a day-long nap until around 7:30pm today which was a struggle for the most part.

Work got done, but the efficiency was down inbetween times where it counts most.
