Title: Washing Machine Hose - Braided Stainless Steel Hoses
Post by: DUNBAR PLUMBING on January 13, 2010, 01:02:00 AM
Washing machine hoses are one of most overlooked hazards inside a home when it comes to potential water damage issues. The black rubber type are commonly used for the installation of hot and cold water supply to the washing machine.

It is recommended that the black inexpensive type hoses should be replaced every two years given the hard jolts the appliance creates when turning the water on and off between cycles. Fast acting solenoid valves are the first way washing machine hoses burst, which is usually right at the crimps of the hose.

A washing machine hose can bust without warning and cause serious water damage to your home, especially if no one is home when the event happens. Washing machine hoses usually start off with a small bulge right at the crimp of the hose, slowly growing over time. This is where the accident  is waiting to happen.

*Whenever you see the black hose starting to enlarge over the size of the crimped end itself, this is when hoses become most susceptible to cause issue with possibly breaking or rupturing.* [/b]
