Wednesday night I cheated:
Had a faucet to replace on a enamel over steel kitchen sink with an old Moen faucet that was fused to the sink.
All the ears broke right off on the plastic hold down nuts so I did something I've never done before...
Took my torch and heated those plastic nuts and got them pliable enough where they allowed that faucet to
peel off the sink deck with not much effort. Of course, you cannot get crazy with the flame but just enough to
get that plastic to a state that it isn't hard brittle anymore, and it really made a difference.
I would say a heat stripping gun would be the better application most likely .
Got the new faucet installed with no problems.
Glad it doesn't happen all the time.
