I'm thinking :wtf: were these people thinking.

i do like the set dimention now that I'm into service.    for years I used the adjustable slots. :(        Oh the mistakes I made for a sevice guy back then.         I don't think 1/2 gas pipe has ever been put together with more torque than by me when I was an apprentice.
I also use the fixed slot when I install a flange and install it after the finished floor is installed then firmly secure with the appropriate anchor. Brass closet bolts with double nuts and washers. Grout or anchor cement on tile or a slab and adhesive caulk or silicone on other surfaces. As an apprentice i had a hard time with getting 3/8 chromed copper or soft 3/8 copper from leaking at the compression joint, but I was only 13/14 years old and couldn't concentrate except on one thing and it wasn't plumbing. ;D

I was just told I can only get the TOTO drake in 1.28 gallon.     I won't recommend them any longer.      They still flush awesome
Wow thats great info to know. Thanks for passing that on :sign0098:. I'm going to call my friend and see if they have any of the 1.6 left in stock so i can scoop them up.

Hey I found a thermal exspansion tank installed horizontal in the attic of a multi million $ home yesterday with no support. Along with a freaking mess of a pex install. I will take pics but it will be a week or two. Its a sight to see.

If you can afford it guess it's up to discretion of its value, how well it works. Everything about the equation is expensive but that doesn't take away its purpose in a commercial application. Water systems that are impossible to drain down is one such example.
I thought they marketed that product mainly for new construction. Seems like if a system cant be drained down that isolation valves would be installed and then the most permanent method of piping installed. I think its sole reason for existence is to compete with plastic systems.

Running on 4 hours sleep from yesterday is killing me.

I need to start doing this more often.  :bedtime2:
Hey Dunbar thats bad for your heart get some :bedtime2:. Its going to reach the mid 30's here today with a windchill well below freezing. The low tonight is going to be 16 with windchill around 0-5 degrees. Saturday looks the same. plenty of work to follow

I've seen alot of these less than a year old with flapper problems. How about you guys?

8
What do you guys think of this system? I'm thinking once the o rings get some age on them, simple expansion and contraction will cause leaks.
A guy compared them to sloan "O" rings but I dont think that a valid comparison because sloan's O ring is not concealed in a wall and is not meant to be permanent.

I'm not pissed either, just try to still cool about things, that's all.
If I frequented a club and the owner told me to leave and dont come back for a week,I would find another place to drink. Thats the problem of running people off, they somtimes dont come back. I never really looked at any other Plumbing forums and since i was "let go" and surfed around,i found somthing i like better. Its not like i was being paid or it affects my bottom line,so you'll never see me mad about it. Maybe now your job will be easier and I'll be out of your way. I'm not saying I'll never post over there again but i will not go out of my way to offer any real info. I'll just lurk, look at pics and post somwhere else and make sombody else some money. Now thats real :sign0096: it just might not seem like it.

« on: January 07, 2010, 07:27:16 PM »
New construction I use air/acety and for repair i use mapp. On occasion I will use my air/acety B tank for repair when I need precise flame control. My mapp torch is the basic 50.00 POS it does have flame control but no choice of tips.

Ah I just dont know if I'm into it anymore. I've found another forum that has alittle more plumbing talk on it. Actually two of them. Great site dunbar! It was  fun while it lasted. On a brighter note,I found out today I will be plumbing a small commercial building for a dentist. No bid just write me a bill and I'll pay is how he put it. Sounds good I've been working for him for over 15 years. It'll be the 1st new work I've done in a while rom the ground up.

Is this part part where I beg you to return?  :sign0135:
Noway I would never expect that,no hard feelings here. Man you shoulda seen the house i worked in today,I was impressed and that aint easy buster. Freeze events are good in getting new very good customers! This one has plenty of money and doesn't mind spending it.

A plumber on another forum had the question once if he could run some cat3 vent through some existing vent pipe as a pipe cahse. I found this looking around on the Noritz website.
...

Venting system should not be routed through any other vent, such as an existing masonry or factory-built chimney flue. Vents must be accessible for joint inspection, allow heat dissipation, and cannot exhaust directly into chimney due to back pressure.
