Delta Tub Faucet Replacement - Village Drive Edgewood Kentucky
« on: February 22, 2011, 03:24:19 AM »

On 2-18-11 we got an emergency call where a repeat customer of ours called to state that they tried to work on replacing the inside repair parts of their shower faucet that led to the faucet breaking. This faucet was an older 600 series Delta tub/shower faucet. Last year, a similar situation took place in the exact fashion, in another bathroom across from where the faucet was being replaced.

Delta faucets have become the "surprise unhappy ending" for unsuspecting homeowners that find out indirectly that 2 wrenches are needed to carefully remove the bonnet nut on those faucets. That task can prove difficult, even if you do know what your are doing. The majority of faucets we replace in existing bathrooms are delta faucets. The incorporation of the 3 tubes that joined the brass cross of the valve, along with the valve body that houses the cartridge. The faucet, when twisted will soon become damaged as the tubes get heavily twisted/distorted and begin to leak.

For the most part, customers do not hate the product because of this issue. They knowingly understand that the risk they took came with bad results, at no fault to the product. The new R10000 valve provides the answer to Delta's more than 3 decades of valves that came in two components, now working in a solid 1 piece all brass assembly. The valve allows you to sweat or thread connect the valve you are using.

Our first trip that day was to come and shut the water off, install isolation valves to the fixture so the water could be turned back on at the house. Once this task was performed, we rescheduled to come back on saturday to finish the installation of the new faucet.

That very next day along with help from the property owner the new shower valve was installed to replace the defective one that was damaged. This replacement actually came with a built in access panel to the back side of the faucet, allowing for direct access to the water lines leading to the valve.
