This year's superbowl is going to be a battling duel between two of the most traditional football teams in the NFL. Green Bay Packers beat the Chicago Bears in the NFC playoffs and the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the New York Jets by controlling the ball to the very end of the game.

Rex Raven was one pissed off coach for the New York Jets, slamming his head gear to the ground in a fit of rage once Ben Roethlisberger connected down field. Both of the playoff games this sunday were hard fought, and kept it very interesting for the fans of the 4 teams that played good football to anchor their place at the superbowl.

The Steelers and the Packers come to meet in Texas on February 7th 2011 for Superbowl XLV - 45th Should be a great game!

  

Dunbar Plumbing was called out to a duplex rental property on lyndale drive in edgewood kentucky. This road is near Turkeyfoot middle school on Turkeyfoot road. This emergency call came in saturday the 22nd from an out of state property owner. The complaint was "busted water lines in the ceiling in the garage" and that the water to the 1st floor was turned off.

When we arrived today, the attendent representing the property owner's best interest was shocked by the revelation that a garage door had been opened for months, allowing not only cold air but a large amount of leaves inside on the floor. This allowed the water lines to freeze inside the building, causing the damage to the water lines that were subjected to freezing.

The main shutoff was located on the front wall underneath a set of steps and when we turned the water back on to make sure there was only one location where the water was leaking, numerous locations in the ceiling started to leak water, cascading down to the floor. We advised the customer on the phone along with the attendant that was present to allow us to reschedule for tomorrow, asking them to open up the ceilings and expose all the broken water lines and get the room heated so all the piping has the ability to unthaw. We are expected to return when this work is accomplished and possibly reinsulate the piping in the ceiling, once the pipe leaks are repaired.

The discussion in the video above has to do with tests (more than 3) that have revealed positive for high levels of testosterone, which in males is the equivalent to "juicing" or doing steroids, essentially.

The fellow in the interview above has a good line of questioning brought towards Sports Illustrated that commends Lance Armstrong for doing so much good and raising 100's of millions in the fight towards cancer,

is it such a big deal that yes; maybe he did cheat a little. That can be answered in duality by suggesting the question after the fact than before it, implying that no one would agree to set forth a plan in that design and think that's fair to all in the sport of competition.

In my personal opinion, no one likes a cheater, and once again, are we going to see another big name in the limelight of professional sports with an asterik behind the name?


Lance Armstrong*   < How does it look knowing so many wins were gained by taking drugs that buy your endurance over the others?

Dunbar Plumbing was called out to a residence on Metcalf drive in edgewood kentucky last friday to install a whole house water filtration system by Aquasana. The model of the unit was RHINO EQ-300.

The property owner was wanting to provide a filtration system that offers the removal of chlorine from the water. Along with this feature, sediment and odor is removed as well.

When this unit was installed, a check of the incoming water pressure revealed a high water pressure which determined the pressure reducing valve already installed on the water main was defective and broken.

The timing was ideal to remove this defective valve and install a new one to protect the investment of the new whole house water filter system.

Here is our work schedule for this week:


1. Independence Kentucky - Toilet Replacement with a American Standard Cadet 3 toilet in a basement bathroom along with winterizing new water lines that we replaced in a garage kitchen that burst last winter. Repeat customer and we work for the entire family tree. (Almost)

2. Edgewood Kentucky - Whole House Water Filtration System to reduce the amount of chlorine in the water entering the structure. The water district has greatly increased the chlorine levels in the water and this job is for two doctors at Children's Hospital. Angie's List members that I've been doing work for 4 years now.
 

3. Fort Thomas Kentucky - Annual Water Heater Draining on a Water Heater we installed years ago. 50 gallon gas and the customer is trying to keep her investment in good shape. We also clean a trench drain that we installed in 2003 that took care of a ongoing chronic problem with an area drain at a garage door that leaves would commonly clog up. The trench design really made a difference and proof of no issues since that initial install is the guarantee.

 

4. Ryland Heights Kentucky - Replacing a lead closet bend serving a toilet in an older home. Customer is elderly and is having difficulty affording all the plumbing repairs needed at this property. We are supplying a working toilet to replace the aging one that is cracked at her house, fixing the floor that is clearly deteriorated under the floor (repairing) and removing the degrading lead bend back to the cast iron stack. Once this task is completed, it is permanent and her plumbing situation is a memory. Here is an example of the situation.

5. Elsmere Kentucky - Rebuild of a Delta Single Handle Tub/Shower Faucet (Pressure Balanced Cartridge) and rebuild of a 2 handle Delta Lavatory Faucet in a half bath. Customer is fully aware of High Water Pressure in his area and possibly a Water Pressure Reducing Valve and Thermal Expansion Tank will be installed to correct the problem. The work detail mentioned is expensive and we'll know soon if we will just fix the leaks, or fix the leaks and the problem. (High Water Pressure)

Here's a picture of this statue before it was hit by lightning tonight around 11:15 pm. A huge storm rolled into town and a spectacular lightning show was part of the storm.

Dunbar Plumbing was called out on emergency to repair a defective washing machine water supply. The customer had a situation where the washing machine hoses were damaged by high water pressure and when they went to replace the washing machine hoses, the shutoffs broke in the process.
